FARMINGTON – The University of Maine at Farmington Office of Career Services is welcoming employers from Maine and beyond to two upcoming 2019 Career Fairs to help meet their recruitment needs by connecting them with qualified students looking for full-time and summer employment.

This year’s comprehensive UMF Career Fair will be held Wednesday, March 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and is specifically tailored for graduating seniors looking for full-time employment and underclassmen looking for summer work.

UMF’s unique Education Career Fair will be held Friday, March 15, from 1 to 3 p.m. This fair welcomes school districts and educational organizations to campus to meet with senior student teachers who are well prepared to be tomorrow’s educators.

Both events are free and open to the public and will be held in the UMF Olsen Student Center.

Recruiting representatives will be present at both events to hire for full-time and part-time career positions, seasonal jobs and internships. Businesses represented will include those focusing on technology, utility services, financial services, construction, community and mental health programs, human services, education, media and marketing, recreation sports, hospitality services, summer camps and more.

“UMF’s career events generate a great deal of interest from both students and employers,” said Cynthia McShane, UMF career counselor and employment specialist. “It’s great to be a part of that moment when students realize their educational potential with employment opportunities right here in Maine.”

The University of Maine at Farmington hosts multiple opportunities through the academic year for students to connect with employers for undergraduate employment, internships and post graduate career employment. In addition to career fairs and panel discussions, the UMF Office of Career Services is available to work individually with students or directly with employers to assist in their recruiting efforts.

Furthermore, to help address the state’s significant workforce needs, the UMaine System has again created a Hiring Guide for Maine Employers for Spring 2019. This resource provides contact information for the Office of Career Services on each of the UMaine campuses and a schedule of career fairs and networking opportunities where employers can connect with professionally prepared, job-seeking students.

The UMF Office of Career Services is very grateful to Fair Benefactor Sponsors Sweetser and Augusta Schools and Supporter Sponsor Regional School District 25.

UMF Career events are sponsored by the UMF Office of Career Services. Registration is not necessary.
