FARMINGTON - Two people are facing robbery charges after police say a Walmart pharmacist was threatened with a gun and Oxycodone was turned over to a woman Friday evening at Walmart.
Arrested and charged with Class B robbery and Class C illegal possession of Schedule W drug, namely Oxycodone, were Ashley Lake, 27, of Farmington and Timothy Campbell, 33, of Carmel. Campbell was also charged with Class E violation condition of release.
Farmington police received a report at 6:28 p.m. Friday by Walmart that a robbery had taken place at the store's pharmacy. According to Police Chief Jack Peck, a store employee said a woman had approached the counter and handed over a note demanding that Oxycodone be turned over to her.
"There was the threat of a gun, but no weapon was displayed," Peck said.
An undisclosed amount of drugs were given to the woman who then fled the store and ran across the parking lot. She was joined by a man in the parking lot and the suspects ran into a nearby wooded area together, Peck said.
Cpl Nathan Bean and his tracking dog of the Franklin County Sheriff's Department arrived and were led over to the Colonial Valley Motel, less than a quarter of a mile east from the Walmart on Wilton Road.
Police found Lake and Campbell in one of the rooms. Following interviews with police, a Walmart employee reportedly identified Lake as the woman who had taken the drugs and Oxycodone was found in room.
Lake and Campbell were arrested and taken to the Franklin County jail. Bail was set for each at $10,000 cash and a court date of Oct. 26 was scheduled.
