Wilton selectboard seeks candidates for school board seat

1 min read

WILTON – The selectboard is seeking residents interested in serving approximately nine months on the board of Mt. Blue Regional School District, following the resignation of one of the town’s three directors.

Director James Black, who was elected to the position in June 2013, submitted a letter of resignation at last week’s school board meeting. In that letter, Black said that professional and family obligations had resulted in him being unable to adequately serve the district as school board director. Black, who previously taught in Skowhegan, has accepted an administrative position at MSAD 58.

The Wilton Selectboard will select one resident to serve as director until the next annual town meeting in June 2015. Residents will then choose a candidate to serve the single, full year remaining on Black’s term.

Anyone interested in serving on the school board should contact the town office or a member of the selectboard.
