RANGELEY – The 8th Annual Mountain Holly Days sponsored by the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce will be held Friday through Saturday, Dec. 9 – 11 in the villages of Rangeley and Oquossoc.
Participating businesses will offer special discounts, including discounts on gift certificates, promotional items, and dining specials. A free Marshmallow Roast, wine-tasting event, refreshments provided at area businesses’ open houses, area craft fairs, horse drawn wagon rides, and a Community Christmas Party are all part of the festivities.
The 4th Annual Parade of Trees, sponsored on Saturday, Dec. 10 by the Rangeley Rotary Club, is held at the Gingerbread House Restaurant in Oquossoc starting at 5 p.m. with the auction beginning at 7 p.m. Early ticket purchases are recommended for this popular event and are available at the Chamber or from your favorite Rotarian. Beautifully decorated full size and table top trees and wreathes created and donated by local businesses are chock full of special surprises ~ gift certificates, passes, and other wonderful values. All proceeds from this lively, fun-filled auction will benefit programs of the Rangeley Rotary Club and the Rangeley Lakes Chamber of Commerce.
The weekend-long events end with the 33th Annual Walk to Bethlehem sponsored by the Rangeley Friends of the Arts. Gather at the Rangeley Inn at 5:30 p.m. to stroll through the Rangeley village singing Christmas carols, church to church, in search of “a place to stay.” The Church of the Good Shepherd is the final stop for the Community Celebration featuring local groups in music and dance performances ending with a retelling of the Christmas story with live performers including the shepherds, wise men, angels, Mary, Joseph, and the baby. All are invited to a dessert reception following the evening performances.
