FARMINGTON — What better way to kick off the holiday season then to save a life by adopting a rescued pet or two?

From Black Friday, Nov. 27 through Monday, Nov. 30 Franklin County Animal Shelter is joining national animal welfare organization Best Friends Animal Society, along with animal rescue groups and shelters across the country to offer free adoptions.

“You cannot put a price on love and during this free adoption promotion, you don’t have to. Our adoption team will be thrilled to match you up with the pet of your dreams,” said shelter director Heidi Jordan.

All adoptable pets will be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. The shelter will be open from 12-5 pm on all four days, including Sunday.

FCAS is an active partner in Best Friends’ No More Homeless Pets Network which offers help and support to animal rescue groups that save lives in their communities. FCAS is the only shelter in the state participating in this promotion.

Franklin County Animal Shelter has been providing care for stray and unwanted animals in the Farmington area since 1974. To learn more, visit the shelter online at fcanimalshelter.org or call 207-778-2638.
