Carrabassett Valley announces summer reading program

CARRABASETT VALLEY - Carrabassett Valley announces summer reading program and participants can sign up anytime. The theme of this year’s program is Dream Big! First 20 CV youth residents to come into the library to sign up receive a backpack, water bottle, light-up bracelet, reading log and vouchers for Portland Seadogs Tickets!

Kick-Off party is Wednesday, July 11 at 3-4 p.m. Join us again Wednesday July 18 at 1:30 p.m. with a special program from Mad Science www.madscience.org/maine in the Begin Family Community Room at the Carrabassett Valley Public Library.

“Mad Science is a leading science enrichment provider. (They) deliver unique, hands-on science experiences for children that are as entertaining as they are educational.” This program is free and open to the public. The library is open 1-4 so come in early to pick out some good summer reads in the air conditioned comfort of this beautiful space!

Preschool summer story time and crafts will be geared toward children ages 2-5 at 10:30 Thursdays, July 12, 19 and 26. There will be prizes for everyone who reads…just remember to log your books and bring your log to the library anytime between August 8th and the 15th.

Summer Hours: June 27-Sept. 1: Wed 1-4; Thu 10-12; Fri 4-7; Sat 10-12.
