CARRABASSETT VALLEY – The library has over 80 new books catalogued to start off the new year! NEW Adult Fiction includes: Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling; The Racketeer by John Grisham; The Black Box by Michael Connelly; The Bone Bed by Patricia Cornwell; Night Fall and The Panther by Nelson DeMille; Devil’s Gate by Clive Cussler; The Perfect Hope by Nora Roberts; Strangers on the Beach by Josh Pahigian; Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver; Back to Blood by Tom Wolfe; Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo. Adult Non-fiction titles include: Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power by Jon Meacham; The John Lennon Letters; The Words I Chose by Wesley McNair; Bruce by Peter Ames Carlin; The Last Lion: Winston Spencer Churchill by William Manchester; True Food: Seasonable, Sustainable, Simple, Pure by Andrew Weil.

Young Adult titles include a few new series such as Truancy by Isamu Fukui, Bitterblue by Kristen Cashore; Fallen by Kate Lauren; Dodger by Terry Pratchett; Splendors and Glooms by Lauren Amy Schlitz; It’s Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini; The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, and Perks of a Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky.

Children’s books include: Diary of a Wimpy Kid, The Third Wheel by Jeff Kinney; Dragons love Tacos by Adam Rubin; Dork Diaires by Rachel Renee Russell; Pete the Cat and his 4 Groovy Buttons by Eric Litwin; This Moose Belongs to Me by Oliver Jeffers; The Hero’s Guide to Saving Your Kingdom by Christopher Healy; Goblin Secrets by Will Alexander, and many more!

Over 100 music CDs have been donated including Eric Clapton, Jerry Garcia, Miles Davis, Judy Collins, Willie Nelson, Joan Baez, Schooner Fare, Stan Getz, Mozart and many more albums featuring Classical, Jazz, Reggae, Folk, movie soundtracks and multi-cultural music. We also have new audiobooks which are nice for traveling and titles such as Black Like Me, Night, Tale of Despereaux, Lives of the Musicians, Anne of Green Gables, Bambi, Miss Rumphius and other titles.

The library also has movies, newspapers and WIFI which is available 24/7 inside and out.

Winter hours for the Carrabassett Valley Public Library are Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Wednesdays and Fridays 1 to 5 p.m. and Sundays 1-3 p.m. Come in and keep warm by the fireplace, read the local news, browse the magazine rack or new books just in!

The public can access the lobby and door slot for returns weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drop box “baskets” are available at the Sugarloaf Hotel and Ayotte’s. Search our catalog at www.LibraryWorld.com/opac; type in Library Name: CV Library, no password is necessary.
