Electronics Recycling and Disposal event May 5
FARMINGTON - Don't throw out those old or broken electronics! The 5th "Earth Day Every Day!" electronics recycling day on Saturday, May 5 gives area residents an opportunity to responsibly dispose of household electronic devices, otherwise referred to as "e-waste." Instead of disposing of them in a way that could harm the environment and ultimately be dangerous to all life, bring them to a local drop off place to be disposed of responsibly.
As a community service project old and broken electronics, otherwise referred to as "e-waste," will be collected for Maine DEP approved recycling and disposal "Earth Day Every Day!" event on Saturday, May 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Farmington Aubuchon Hardware parking lot located on Route 2 & 4, the Wilton Road. Jim Meader, property owner, has generously made this convenient location available for 5 years.
Old South First Congregational Church's Fundraising Committee and the Justice and Witness Committee have partnered with e-Waste Recycling Solutions of Auburn to provide an opportunity for responsible recycling of TVs, computers, monitors, printers, microwaves, DVD and VCR players, stereos, cell phones, gaming and other electronic devices. For a list of other electronics that will be accepted go to www.ewastemaine.com.
The e-waste drop off is open to individuals and families. There is no set fee for this disposal service, however, a free-will monetary donation will be gladly accepted to support Old South Church's community service, outreach and youth programs. Businesses interested in recycling e-waste should contact Rick Clark at eWaste Recycling Solutions at 207-449-1709. Any questions regarding the E-Waste disposal and recycling please contact the Fundraising Committee through the church office at 778-0424.
No early drop offs please!
