FARMINGTON – The Farmington Historical Society is getting ready for its 10th Annual Wreath Sale.

The sale has been expanded to make one-stop-shopping for holiday decorating. The sale now includes mixed green swags and center pieces in addition to the traditional door and barn sized wreaths. Several bow colors, including specialty bows are also available.

The University of Maine Farmington Alpha Phi Omega sorority once again helped decorate the fresh Maine made balsam wreaths.

“It’s one of our favorite community service projects,” said Erin Wood, APO’s president.

“It’s great to meet and interact with the sorority students,”  Taffy Davis, head of the wreath fundraising project said. “They make short work of the 260 wreaths that get decorated and it’s fun to talk with them. Jane Woodman brought her dog which the students liked-especially for those who have been away all semester from their pets at home. We can’t thank APO enough for their help,” added Davis.

All proceeds will go towards preserving Farmington’s history. Wreaths and decorating items will be on sale on Saturday, Nov. 28 and Saturday, Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Titcomb House on Academy St. Wreaths can be shipped. More information can be found on www.farmingtonhistory.org or 778-4275.
