FARMINGTON – On a cool but sunny Oct. 18 morning, 11 members of Future Business Leaders Of America and advisor Priscilla Conner joined approximately 125 community members in a 2.5 mile walk to raise awareness. Two former FBLA members, Riley and Drew Blanchet, joined this event.

The walk was sponsored by Franklin Children’s Task Force to bring awareness concerning the need to protect children from any form of abuse. Participating in this walk walk is one of many services to the community FBLA will complete throughout the upcoming school year.

Franklin County Children’s Task Force was asking for donations to support their ongoing efforts to provide protection from abuse. FBLA donated, through pledges, $174, with more funds to be collected. The task force provided hot chocolate, coffee, cider, apples and delicious doughnuts to all the ‘walkers’, along with a bright yellow T-shirt to forever remember this activity.

FBLA members led the walk, while carrying the official Kids Walk For Kids banner.
