RANGELEY – The first annual Black Fly BBQ contest will be held on Saturday, June 18. Teams of two are invited to share their best BBQ or grill recipe with the public and dazzle them with their mastery of outdoor cooking.
Contestants bring their own grill whether it’s gas or charcoal. They prepare their secret recipes and offer samples to guests in hopes of being chosen the crowd favorite. There is an overall first place judge’s award. One lucky team will be going home home with fabulous gifts and prizes, just in time for the grilling season. This event is held rain or shine, for the first time, at the Shed BBQ restaurant, 2647 Main Street, Rangeley Maine.
The Shed, well known for its award winning beef brisket and pulled pork sandwiches, will kick off the summer by hosting the contest. Doors open at high Noon for this BBQ show down. Accompanying the delicious fare will be local live entertainment to keep the good times rolling.
