LIVERMORE – And the winners are . . the patients of the Martha B. Webber Breast Care Center at Franklin Memorial Hospital to pay for expenses not covered by insurance during the treatment and recovery.

Forty-seven ladies from area golf courses joined in friendly competition at Maple Lane Golf Course in Livermore to help others. Playing in teams of four, they vied to win free play at other golf courses which all donated to the cause. In the end, over $4,800 was raised.

Some area businesses and individuals donated money displayed as $50 or $100 tee boxes sponsors or provided products for the raffle table and silent auction. Golfers purchased raffle tickets and bid on the silent auction items in support of the cause. Sue St. Pierre made a beautiful quilt which was the featured raffle item. The quilt was won by Nancy Pratt of Weld.

Prizes were given to teams for lowest scramble scores. First place winners of rounds at Sugarloaf were Sue Clary, Pam Doyen, Louise Parker, and Ashlee Quirrion. Second place winners of rounds at Oakdale were Marie Burns, Ann Nemi, Nancy Pratt, and Sherrill Rollins. Third place winners of rounds at Maple Lane were Rose DeSlauriers, Katie Dixon, Jodi Grant, and Jan Welch. Novice golfer Ashlee Quirrion claimed the prizes for both the Longest Drive on hole No. 2 and Closest to the Pin on hole No. 6 competitions.
