Franklin County Farm Bureau to sponsor blueberry pie judging contest at fair

FARMINGTON - On Wednesday, Sept. 19 at the Farmington Fair Exhibition Hall there will be a blueberry pie judging contest sponsored by Franklin County Farm Bureau.

The contest is open to all, but only one pie may be submitted per person. A 3 X 5 recipe card with ingredients and preparation instructions (for crust too) must be included. Pies should be in a non-returnable pie plate as the pies will be auctioned off later that day to support area food pantries. Entries will be accepted between 11 am and 1 pm on the 2nd floor of the Exhibition Hall.

Judging will occur at 1 pm. Judges will consider the overall appearance of the pie, the crust, the blueberry filling and ease of preparation/clarity of recipe in determining the winners. Winners will be announced at 2 pm from the Farm Bureau display.
