PHILLIPS – LIsted below are the rsults of events at this year’s Phillips Old Home Days, which was held from Saturday, Aug. 16 through the afternoon of Sunday, Aug. 23.

Parade
Most Beautiful: 1st Sandy River Business 2nd Douglass Family 3rd”Frozen” Pike Family
Funniest: 1st “Alice in Wonderland”, Davenport Family 2nd Sandy River Nursing Home 3rd “Dumbo”, Roderick Family
Youth: 1st Girl Scout Troop # 54 2nd W.M.E. United Soccer 3rd Boy Scout Troop # 500
Most Original: 1st “Nemo”, Thompson Family, 2nd Smith Family, 3rd “Winnie the Pooh”, Boyd Family
Big Rig: Bill’s Auto Transport ( Many truckers came from afar to be in the parade in support of a fellow trucker Chris Haines. The winners of this category gave back their money to Chris Haines along with their blue ribbon!)

Three Mile Cancer Walk

85 people walked, raising $1,004 for local Phillips resident, Chris Haines.

Lumbering Competition

Pete White is the overall winner.
Albert Berry of Avon was chosen this year as the” Lumberman’s Honoree.”

Frog Jumping Contest

With 100 inches, 1st Jackson Hunt, 2nd Max Alexcovich, 3rd Kyli Phillips

Volleyball

The “Mooseknuckles” Team came in first.

Horseshoes

The Horseshoe Tournament is now in memory of Dennis McLaughlin.
Randy and Rick Durrell were the overall winners.

King & Queen

Gage Smith and Shianne Bryant sold enough tickets to earn the title of 2015 Phillips Old Home Days King and Queen.

Honored Couple: Michael and Virginia Auger were the distinguished, chosen couple to be honored.

  1. nice time in Phillips….. Glad to see town folks come together. Despite the rain the parade was beautiful!!!!!!! Lots of nice floats.

  2. first of all I’d like to thank those who donated to Chris he’s got a battle ahead and a long road to recovery. I would also like to thank Pottles transportation for sending their truck and Driver Kathy Peare and Bills Auto for sending Chris’s truck and another one too! When I called each of the companies about doing this they both jumped onboard with an immediate “Absolutely” Both great Maine companies and thank you to the folks who donated to Chris we raised $565.00 to help him with expenses … A great way to show someone the community loves and supports you!! That’s how we do things in Phillips Me USA
