Spruce Mountain High School upcoming events

JAY – Here is listing of weekly events happening at Spruce Mountain High School for the week of May 24 to June 19, 2015:

Memorial Day Parade –
The Spruce Mtn. Marching Band will march in the Jay/Livermore Falls Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 25th.

8th Grade Parent Night:
Students currently in the 8th grade at SMMS are invited to a parent night on Wednesday, May 27th at 6PM in the SMHS cafeteria. This meeting is designed to provide valuable information regarding the course offerings at SMHS. The program of studies will be provided at the meeting for course selections. There will be a 9th grade orientation day on August 28th to meet teachers and navigate through their schedules.

College Fair:
Juniors who have signed up will attend a college fair at the University of Maine at Augusta on Thursday, May 28th, from 8-11AM.

Final Exams:
Final Exams for Senior’s will be on May 29, June 1, 2 & 3. Underclassmen exams will be on June 15-19th.

Yearbook Dedication:
The Spruce Mtn. High School yearbook will be dedicated to a faculty member on Friday, May 29th. Yearbooks will then be distributed to students who have purchased them.

Fine Arts Night:
Tuesday, June 2nd there will be a Fine Arts Night at 6:30 in the SMHS Cafeteria. This will be to recognize the Arts – consisting of Drama, Band, Chorus and Art.

Senior Scholarship Celebration:
Thursday, June 4th SMHS will honor the students of the class of 2015 with a banquet. All scholarships and awards will be presented on this night. All Seniors and their parents are encouraged to attend at 6PM in the gym to celebrate their hard work. Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Baccalaureate:
Baccalaureate is a traditional and spiritual ceremony that helps put graduation in perspective. It will be held on Friday, June 5th at 7PM at St. Rose of Lima Church. Students are invited to participate in this independent activity. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Graduation:
The SMHS Class of 2015 will graduate on Sunday, June 7th at 4PM in the Gymnasium. Reserved seating tickets will be distributed to each senior. Bleacher seating is for everyone else who would like to attend.

Spring Sports Banquet:
The sports teams consisting of Baseball, Softball, Track & Tennis will be honored at the spring banquet on Wednesday, June 10th at 6PM in the gym.

Spring Theatre:
There will be a drama theatre performance titled The Secret Lives of Subway Riders on June 12th at 7PM on the SMHS Stage. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Tuesday, June 2 – Girls Varsity Tennis Prelim away – Team TBA 4PM
Saturday, June 6 – State Track meet at Morse HS 9AM
