Stratton’s annual family festival returns June 24-26

STRATTON— Old Home Days is the theme of the annual Family Fun Days in the Stratton area June 24-26th. This weekend of food, music, entertainment and fireworks is a family-oriented event.

The Friday kickoff includes a chicken and rib barbecue dinner prepared by the Wayfarers starting at 5 p.m. at the Stratton-Eustis Community Building on Main Street.

The Stratton Eustis PTC will hold a Stratton School yard sale at the Eustis Fire Station at 9 a.m. The grand parade starts at 11 a.m. on Main Street. From 12 to 4 p.m, Pepin’s Field will have Kathy’s Karaoke, food and free activities for children and families.

Among the new events will be award winning, local Maine wildlife artist, Ashley Gray who will be giving a live carving presentation and the Rangeley Logging Museum who will be showing an exhibit on the history of logging. Old favorites that are returning include the treasure pile, kids’ games, bounce houses, the meadow muffin contest and more.

The day ends with a fireworks show at 9 p.m viewed from the Pepin’s Field.

Sunday, the Arnold Trail Snowmobile Club will hold its fundraiser Walk-A-Thon starting at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral Pines Campground. Also Sunday, a golf tournament is planned at Moose Meadows in Coplin Plantation beginning at 10 a.m.

Finishing off the weekend, the Stratton Plaza on Main Street will hold a horseshoe tournament and BBQ at 1 p.m. along with awards.
