STRONG – As encouragement for young people to read over the summer, Strong Public Library held a summer reading program for youths ages 12 – 18.

Fifteen young people registered for the program. Each week the participants turned in a brief summary of the pages they had read, and their name went into a drawing which was held on Aug. 25. The prizes, a Kindle Fire donated by the library and one donated by Mike Pond of Strong, were won by Emmalee Bolens for the girls and Adam Luce for the boys.

“The library hopes to offer another incentive like this next summer. Congratulations to the winners,” librarian Cheryl McCleery said.
