FARMINGTON – Franklin County’s Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services (SAPARS) will be holding its first annual Teal Ribbon Run, a 5K event for runners or walkers, on Saturday, Sept. 13.

The Teal Ribbon Run, so named because teal is the color of sexual assault awareness, originated in Oxford County and has been successful there for two years in a row.

Please join us to help run (or walk) sexual violence out of our community! Participants will gather at The Holman House on 227 Main Street in Farmington. Registration will begin at 9 a.m. with the 5K kicking off at 10 a.m. Registration is $15 BEFORE Sept. 7, and early registrants will receive a free T shirt. Registration after Sept. 7 (including the day of the event) is $20. There is no registration fee for children 12 years and younger.

To register and pay online, please visit www.sapars.org/store. Or, registration can be completed by calling Stephanie LeBlond at (207) 778-9522, ext. 35. Checks can be mailed to: Sexual Assault Prevention & Response Services, PO Box 349, Farmington, ME 04938. Please make checks payable to SAPARS.
