RANGELEY – Nature Photographer Gary Westerhoff will present an hour-long narrated slide show: The Great Outdoors, on the big movie screen at the Lakeside Theater on Main Street, Rangeley, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7.

Westerhoff is a professional environmental engineer, a nature photographer and a long time summer visitor to the Rangeley area. This event is presented by the Rangeley Friend of the Arts.

The show will consist of images from North American Wildlife and Adventures in Patagonia, South America.
Westerhoff’s wildlife photographs have been acclaimed for their intimate and emotional portrayal of wolves, coyotes, mountain lions, deer, grizzly bear, fox and other animals and birds. The Patagonia photographs were taken during the 260 days that Gary spent in remote areas of southern Argentina and Chile over a 15 year period.  Many of his photographs have won awards in judged nature competitions and have been published in his numerous nature books.

Admission to the show is free. However the Rangeley Friends of the Arts will graciously accept donations to support their local programs. There will be a free raffle at the end of the show with the winner receiving an autographed copy of one of Westerhoff’s nature books.
