WEST FARMINGTON – The 13th Annual Farmington Elks Scholarship Ride held each year in memory of Tim Maillet, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 6. Registration begins 8 a.m. at the Farmington Elks Lodge 2430, 120 School Street in West Farmington.
Two, three and four wheels welcome. An auction & raffle will be held during the event.
According to organizer Belinda Maillet-Barden, last year $20,000 in scholarships were awarded to Mt Blue High School, Spruce Mountain High School and Mt Abram High School students.
Other organizers of the run this year was Nate Morin, Deb Norton, Jo Spielvogel and Les Brown. Thank you to the people that attended the meetings to help with run and get our many sponsors for the run Michelle Andrews-Clark, Michael Distefano, Patrick Daggett, Karen Powers and others that I may have missed. Most of all a BIG THANKYOU TO ALL THE SPONSORS OF THE EVENT AND THE RIDERS THAT SHOW UP ON THE DAY TO SUPPORT THE EVENT. The event would not be possible without all the help we receive. Fingers crossed for Sunshine.
I enjoyed the Maillet ride with my Uncle Merle one year and had a blast! (Wish he and I could still go.) Hope a big crowd attends…. It is a lot of fun:)
