FARMINGTON – Franklin Memorial Hospital employee Kristen Grondin was recently recognized for being the Maine Association of Healthcare Administrative Professional’s (MAHAP) allied health professional of the year for helping generate new interest and membership in the association, streamlining conference registrations, and sharing its professional passion.

In receiving the award, Grondin was cited as being a top candidate for the award because of the 110 percent she gives to everyone and everything, offering support and encouragement when it is needed. Her nomination stated, “Kristen easily meets and surpasses all the criteria for this award. She is a stellar representative of MAHAP in terms of professionalism and service, leads by example, and believes in empowering others to become leaders. She takes great pride in her work and has a unique ability to put patients, family, friends, and colleagues before herself. She is truly inspiring and very deserving of this award!”

Grondin has been with Franklin Memorial Hospital since September 2002, currently supporting the chief nursing officer, the education department, and the organization’s AHEC grant, which encourages individuals to explore health care careers; provides clinical training experiences for students in health professions; and supports health professionals with continuing education and distance learning opportunities.

Grondin has been a member of MAHAP since October 2006 and is currently serving her third term as MAHAP’s vice president. She additionally belongs to the national association for healthcare administrative professionals and sits on the membership committee.

The mission of MAHAP is to establish a network liaison between healthcare administrative support personnel with healthcare organizations throughout the state of Maine and in-system hospitals of New Hampshire to provide high quality educational programs to increase job knowledge and skills.
