New medical provider to join Rangeley Family Medicine

RANGELEY – Connie Coggins, president/CEO of HealthReach Community Health Centers, is proud to announce the appointment of Jacqueline L. Bates, APRN to the medical staff of Rangeley Family Medicine.

Ms. Bates will be joining the health center for the summer in order to provide expanded hours for area residents and travelers. Beginning July 6, the health center will be open Monday 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Tuesday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and Wednesday through Friday 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Bates is a graduate of Washington State University, Pullman, where she received her bachelor of science in nursing degree in 1973. She graduated from the Physician Assistant program (MEDEX) at the University of Washington, Seattle and subsequently received a certificate as a nurse practitioner in 1980.

Bates brings extensive experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner in a Maine practice where she performs histories and physicals and acute care visits for children, adolescents and adults. She recently shared her reasons for choosing to practice in Rangeley: “I am looking forward to exploring the Rangeley area and participating in the activities Rangeley is so well known for… skiing, hiking and boating. I have a special interest in women’s health care.”

Bates joins Dr. Amanda Hepler, Dr. Burton Knapp and Dr. William Toms who provide medical care to 1,800 local residents from Dallas and Lincoln Plantations, Madrid, Magalloway, Rangeley, Sandy River, and other towns, as well as visitors from away.
