RANGELEY – Rangeley Health and Wellness (RHW) is pleased to announce that they have received two $5,000 grants, one from the Harold Dudley Charitable Fund and the other from the Western Mountains Fund, both of the Maine Community Foundation in support of the newly established HELP Adult Respite Care (HARC) Program.

HARC is a state-licensed social respite care program designed to provide needed aid for caregivers by creating a safe place where cognitively challenged seniors can participate in activities designed specifically to enrich their lives.

The program provides a supportive structure that focuses on a participant’s capabilities, experiences, interests, and personality so that his/her potential is maximized. RHW’s HARC program is based on the Brookdale Model providing fun and engaging social and educational programs designed for seniors with early to moderate memory loss.

The HARC program is now operating in the lower level of the Rangeley Family Medicine facility at 42 Dallas Hill Road. Respite care is provided every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, please contact the administrative offices of RHW at 207-864-4397, ext. 4.

  1. What a great program, so badly needed in every town. I hope it is well used and gets to continue when the funds are gone.
