FARMINGTON – A local man was arrested early Saturday morning after police received a call about a domestic violence assault.

Kenneth W. Imlay Jr., 36 of Farmington, has been charged with aggravated domestic violence assault and obstructing the report of a crime following an incident which allegedly occurred just before 2 a.m. Saturday morning.

According to Farmington Police Department Deputy Chief Shane Cote, police responded after receiving a call through Franklin County Dispatch. Following an investigation and interviews of the involved parties, Officer Ryan Rosie arrested Imlay on the two charges and transported him to Franklin County Detention Center.

The domestic violence assault charge was aggravated due to Imlay’s alleged conduct, Cote said, rather than use of a weapon. The obstruction charge relates to Imlay reportedly destroying the alleged victim’s phone.
