Farmington residents asked to report road damage

FARMINGTON – As public works departments busy themselves with picking up after last night’s storm, residents with road issues are being asked to contact the town office and leave a message.

Last night’s storm dumped inches of rain across the county, washing out roads and dropping power lines in Farmington, Wilton and Jay. While Franklin County Emergency Management Agency Director Tim Hardy reported no outright closures this morning, he said that several roads had been reduced to one lane while crews responded.

Farmington Board of Selectmen Chair Ryan Morgan asked that residents with public road issues contact the town office at 778-6538 and leave a message. The Public Works Department has been out since the early morning hours, Morgan noted, and would continue to work until the damage had been repaired.
