Franklin County Sheriff’s Department’s weekly report for July 26 – Aug. 2:

07/26/2013 Corporal Nate Bean assisted Wilton police with a fight in progress located on Main Street in Wilton.

07/26/2013 Corporal Bean responded to MooseLook Lane in Weld for a report of vandalism. Complainant reported that person(s) unknown have been pulling down no trespassing signs.

07/26/2013 Corporal Bean and Deputy Chris Rhinhart assisted State Police with a welfare check on the Industry road in New Sharon.

07/26/2013 Corporal Nate Reid assisted Jay Police by issuing a trespass warning in Chesterville.

07/26/2013 Corporal Bean found a man hanging around the back of Sandy River Farm Supply in New Sharon at 1 a.m., later on he found behind Top of the Hill Grill taking cigarette butts out of the trash. He was warned to stay away from business when they are closed.

07/27/2013 Detective Ken Charles investigated a report of theft and criminal trespass at a camp located on the Cohoon Road in Chesterville.

07/27/2013 Corporal Bean found an open cellar door at Sandy River Farm Supply in New Sharon.

07/28/2013 Deputy Ed Hastings assisted State Police with the arrest of Jason Fowler of Chesterville. Fowler was standing in the middle of the Ridge Road obstructing traffic and yelling at cars as they went by. When State Police arrived Fowler pushed one of the troopers, he was immediately arrested for assault.

07/27/2013 Corporal Reid responded to a 911 hang-up call in Freeman. The caller attempted to dial 411.

07/27/2013 Deputy Rhinhart responded to Main St. in Kingfield to assist State Police with a domestic disturbance.

07/27/2013 Corporal Bean conducted a bail condition search in New Sharon.

07/27/2013 Corporal Reid investigated a report of harassment from an inmate. Inmate stated that his girlfriend is receiving harassing phone calls from his ex-girlfriend.

07/28/2013 Corporal Reid and Deputy Nick Zecher investigated a report of a suspicious activity on the Salem road in Freeman Twp.

07/28/2013 Deputy Zecher responded to Anni’s Market in Kingfield for a gas drive off complaint. The offender was located and paid for the fuel.

07/28/2013 Deputy Rhinhart responded to Kingfield for a report of suspicious activity.

07/29/2013 Deputy Rhinhart responded to Mile Square Road in Phillips reference a loud music complaint.

07/29/2013 Deputy Zecher responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in Letter E Twp.

07/29/2013 Deputy Zecher responded to Ron’s Texaco in Avon reference a worthless check complaint.

07/29/2013 Detectives Ken Charles and Stephen Charles arrested Jason Bergeron of Chesterville for Class A Gross Sexual Assault against a minor under the age of 15 yrs.  Bergeron is currently being held at the Franklin County Detention Center.

07/29/2013 Corporal Reid and Deputy Zecher responded to Vaughn Road in Eustis for an ongoing dispute between neighbors regarding live stock and property lines.

07/30/2013 Deputy Rhinhart responded to Kingfield for a civil complaint regarding the ownership of a car that is in dispute between a couple that have separated.

07/30/2013 Deputy Rhinhart investigated a car vs. moose accident on Route 27 in Wyman Twp. The car was destroyed, the moose ran off into the woods.

07/30/2013 Chief Deputy Stephen Lowell stopped a vehicle that almost struck his cruiser on Route 4 in Rangeley Plt. Eric Aronson, 54, was intoxicated and was placed under arrest for OUI and VCR. Deputy Timberlake transported Aronson to Jail.

07/30/2013 Sheriff Scott Nichols and Deputy Brad Timberlake responded to Swan Road in New Sharon to assist State Police with a report of an intoxicated male inside the home of a woman and refused to leave when she asked him to. Sheriff Nichols arrived at the scene and removed Brett Roberts from the residence. Trooper Keith Barton arrived and arrested Roberts for VCR, OUI and Criminal Trespass.

07/31/2013 Lt. David Rackliffe and Corporal Chris Chase responded to Farmington with both their K-9s regarding a missing elderly person. An elderly local man who suffers from several health issues walked away from his home during the night. He was found by Lt. Rackliffe and K-9 Justice at 8:15 Wednesday morning.

07/31/2013 Corporal Bean discovered an unsecured door at the Phillips Fire Dept. The door was secured by Bean.

07/31/2013 Deputy Burke investigated a car vs. moose accident on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation. The moose died at the scene, the pickup truck was totaled.

07/31/2013 Corporal Reid responded to a report of a pickup off the road in Coplin Plt.

07/31/2013 Deputy Rhinhart investigated a car vs. moose accident in Chain of Ponds, Route 27, the driver of the car was injured but refused treatment.

07/31/2013 Deputy Rhinhart is investigating a report of diesel theft at Jordan Excavation in Kingfield. Owners noticed several of their truck tanks recently have been missing fuel.

07/31/2013 Corporal Bean served a PFA to a man who lives on Blake Hill Road Phillips.

07/31/2013 Corporal Reid found an open door at the Strong Area Health Center.

08/01/2013 Detective Ken Charles repatriated lost property to its owner.

08/01/2013 Deputy Colt Sleaster investigated a car vs. dog accident on the Salem Road in Phillips.

08/01/2013 Deputy Sandy Burke and Corporal Chase went to Gramps Way in Coplin Plt. Reference a possible violation of a protection order. No charges were filed.

08/01/2013 Deputy Burke investigated a car vs. moose accident on Route 16 in Coplin Plt. The car was heavily damaged, the moose died at the scene.

08/01/2013 Deputy Rhinhart is investigating a report of trespass at the Peabody Road in Eustis. According the complainant who is the real estate agent, somebody has been staying at the residence and had been using the clothes dryer. Rhinhart found the residence to be secure. Investigation continues.

08/02/2012 Deputy Burke investigated a car vs. moose accident on Route 4 Rangeley Plt. The car was heavily damaged, the moose died at the scene.

Deputies conducted 189 property checks during this reporting period and found four unsecured buildings.

  1. Well it’s about time New Sharon, finally received around the clock patrol, with two cruisers, finally getting something for the 5% Tax Increase
