Franklin County Sheriff’s Department weekly report for July 11 – July 18, 2014:

7/11/2014 Cpl. Chris Chase investigated a report of phone harassment on the Rangeley Road in Avon. Investigation revealed that the complainant was actually being called by telemarketers.

7/11/2014 Cpl. Chase responded Wilton with K-9 “Abby” to assist the police department.

7/11/2014 Deputy Colt Bernhardt responded to the Farmington Road in Strong reference an assault complaint.

7/12/2014 Deputy Matt Brann responded to the Farmington Road in Strong regarding a complaint of vandalism to a car window.

7/12/2014 Deputy Bernhardt responded to George Thomas Road in Chesterville regarding suspicious activity.

7/12/2014 Deputy Sandy Burke responded to an alarm on Avon Valley Road in Avon.

7/12/2014 Deputy Burke responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on the Carthage Road in Carthage. As a result of the investigation, Cody Berryment of Dixfield was arrested on charges of operating under the influence and operating without a license.

7/12/2014 Deputy Bernhardt responded to Federal Row in Industry for a reported overdose. The victim was transported to the hospital.

7/13/2014 Deputy Nicholas Zecher responded to Coburn Gore at the request of customs officers and charged a Canadian Citizen from Ottawa, David Gu, with possession of scheduled drugs (cocaine).

7/13/2014 Deputy Brann made an arrest warrant after a man turned himself in at the jail.

7/13/2014 Deputy Zecher responded to the Weld Road in Phillips to conduct a welfare check on three young children.

7/13/2014 Deputy Brann responded to violation of protection order. As a result of the investigation, Felicia Bell was arrested the next day on a charge of violating a protection order and transported to jail.

7/13/2014 Deputy Zecher investigated a single vehicle accident on the Bemis Road in Rangeley Plt. No injuries were reported.

7/14/2014 Deputy Zecher investigated a report of vandalism to town street signs in Phillips. The town crew reported that a “No through trucks” sign and two barricades were run over by a small blue car, which had also been seen doing circles in the road.

7/14/2014 Deputy Zecher investigated a report of fraud on Bridge Street in Phillips. The complainant claimed his ex-landlord was cashing some of his checks without his permission.

7/14/2014 Deputy Bernhardt investigated a report of suspicious activity on Maple Street in Kingfield.

7/14/2014 Detective Ken Charles saw Jason Fowler operating a Jeep Cherokee in Phillips Monday evening at 7:18 p.m., knowing Fowler did not have a license to drive, he stopped the vehicle on Route 4 in Avon and while speaking with Fowler he observed evidence inside the vehicle.  Fowler and his passenger Kimberly Webber were questioned at the scene; agents from MDEA were called to the scene as well as other deputies to assist Charles. Evidence from the traffic stop led investigators to Rangeley Road in Phillips.  While there, more evidence consistent with the manufacture and trafficking of Methamphetamine was observed, in all 4 people were arrested, the house was secured and a search warrant obtained by MEDA agents for both the house and vehicle. All arrestees are being detained at the jail; bail set at $10,000 cash each defendant except for Erin Smith – her bail is $1,500.  The next day the warrant was executed at the Rangeley Road address.  Agencies involved MDEA, DEP DHHS HETL, FCSO, Northstar, Farmington Fire, and Phillips Fire.

7/14/2015 Deputy Bernhardt responded to Schoolhouse Road in Madrid regarding a report of suspicious activity. It was determined that elderly gentleman suffers from Alzheimer’s and was hallucinating about seeing people breaking into his house.

7/14/2014 Lt. David Rackliffe responded to a car vs. deer accident on the Weld Road in Perkins Twp. Deer died escaped the scene.

7/15/2014 Deputy Andrew Morgan responded to Toothaker Pond Road in Phillips regarding a report of fraud.

7/16/2014 Deputy Kevin Hartley assisted Trooper Aaron Turcotte with a domestic dispute on Forster Hill Road in Freeman twp.

7/16/2014 Deputy Bernhardt responded to Anni’s Market in Kingfield for a “hold up” alarm, which turned out to be a false alarm.

7/16/2014 Deputy Burke responded to Trestle Ave in Kingfield regarding a report of a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed it was a boyfriend-girlfriend argument with no crimes committed.

7/16/2014 Deputy Hartley investigated a bad check complaint at Beal’s Store in Strong. as a result of the investigation a suspect was summonsed to court.

7/17/2014 Deputy Burke responded to a car vs. moose accident on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation. The moose died at the scene, extensive damage to the car.

7/17/2014 Deputy Morgan investigated a reported theft of a motor vehicle from Kingfield. The keys had been left inside the 2001 Subaru Legacy which is dark blue with a tan bumper.

Deputies conducted 68 building checks during this time period and all were secure.
