Franklin County Sheriff’s report: domestic assaults, camp break-in

Franklin County Sheriff’s Department weekly report for Sept. 19 – 26, 2014:

9/20/2014 Deputy Matt Brann and Cpl. Nathan Bean responded to the gravel pit located off from the Ridge Road in Chesterville. A female was reported to be intoxicated and stated she wanted to kill herself by driving her car into a tree or another vehicle. She was located at the pit and admitted to deputies that she wanted to kill herself and was transported to Franklin Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

9/20/2014 Deputy Colt Bernhardt responded to the Borough Road in Chesterville regarding a report of a semi-trailer which apparently became unhooked and was partially blocking the road. The trailer was removed by Dutch Gap Auto.

9/20/2014 Deputy Nicholas Zecher responded to Phillips Road in Strong for a 911 misdial.

9/20/2014 Deputy Zecher responded to Pillsbury Road in Strong for a 911 misdial.

9/20/2014 Deputy Andrew Morgan investigated a burglary at Cook Hill Road in Freeman Twp. The camp owner from Massachusetts was last there on Sept. 7. There was damage done to the main door and many items were taken. The investigation is ongoing.

9/20/2014 Deputy Zecher and Cpl. Bean responded to a threatening complaint at Papas Lane in New Vineyard. This was a continuation of a civil incident that is ongoing. Zecher determined that there was no crime being committed.

9/21/2014 Deputy Morgan assisted Farmington police with an accident investigation. As a car was being loaded onto a tow truck the cable snapped allowing the car to roll back down the ramp and strike the parked Farmington police cruiser.

9/22/2014 Deputy Kevin Hartley investigated a report of credit card fraud on Baker Hill Road in Salem Twp. Someone had used the complainant’s credit card information and had made a purchase in Nevada. The credit card company made good on the purchase and did not charge the account.

9/23/2014 Deputy Brann assisted Farmington police with a suicidal female on the Whittier Road.

9/23/2014 Deputy Brann assisted Trooper Jed Malcore with a domestic dispute on the Industry Road in Industry.

9/23/2014 Deputy Sandy Burke assisted homeowners on Bridge Street in Phillips by removing pets from a residence that was on fire, while the fire department worked to extinguish the fire.

9/24/2014 Deputy Zecher and Cpl. Bean responded to Park Street in Phillips for a report of a domestic disturbance. As a result of the investigation, Robin Bachelder was arrested on a charge of domestic violence assault.

9/24/2014 Deputy Brann investigated an alleged violation of protection order on the Salem Road in Kingfield. The investigation revealed there was not enough evidence to charge the alleged offender after consulting with the DA’s office.

9/25/2014 Deputy Burke responded to a car vs. moose accident on Route 16 in Coplin Plt. There was minor damage to the car, the moose ran off.

9/26/2014 Deputy Burke investigated a report of harassment on the Dodge Road in Phillips. A female had allegedly threatened physical harm to her daughter.

9/26/2014 Detective Ken Charles is investigating a gross sexual assault against a child in the town of Strong.

Deputies conducted 56 property/building checks during this time period, all structures were secure.

  1. Jack, you can misdial 911 quite easily by having pre-programed numbers in your phone and hitting the 911 button accidentally when you’re merely trying to call your brother! (And then the cops have to come and make sure everybody’s OK no matter how much you assure them otherwise…………………) Been there, done that, have the t-shirt! No doubt annoying for the police, assuredly embarrassing for the errant, apologetic speed-dialer.
