Franklin County Sheriff’s Department weekly report for April 17 – 24, 2015

4/17/2015 Deputy Kevin Hartley, Lt. David St. Laurent, Cpl. Nate Bean, Deputy Nicholas Zecher, Trooper Reid Bond, Trooper Jed Malcore and Trooper Andrew Hardy responded to 35 Brown Drive in Carthage regarding a report of domestic violence. A woman reportedly had been strangled by her husband, Robert Carver, 73, earlier that day. She escaped and fled to the Rumford Police Dept. to make the report. She alleged Carver was very intoxicated and had access to a loaded shotgun and a handgun which was in the bedroom. She stated that he told her that he had a plan just in case she left. Troopers and deputies surrounded the house and contacted Carver by phone and he surrendered without incident. He is charged with aggravated assault Class B, domestic violence terrorizing Class C and domestic violence criminal threatening Class C.

4/18/2015 Deputy Zecher conducted a welfare check on Tymadad Lane in New Vineyard.

4/19/2015 Deputy Zecher responded to Route 27 Coplin Plt. regarding a report of a driver harassing another driver while traveling northbound.

4/19/2015 Deputy Zecher investigated a burglary on Whitney Street in Philips. The complainant called to report that his house had been broken into (through a window which was broken) and persons unknown had stolen a bottle of Klonopin.

4/20/2015 Deputy Hartley investigated a complaint of unauthorized persons blowing up tannerite charges in the Hinkley pit.

4/20/2015 Deputy Hartley investigated a report of littering on the Salem Road in Freeman Twp.

4/20/2015 Deputy Hartley responded to a report of criminal mischief to a door on the Ross Road in Phillips. However, on further investigation revealed that the damage was done by high winds.

4/20/2015 Cpl. Nate Reid investigated a single vehicle accident on South Shore Drive in Rangeley Plt. There was minor injury to the driver.

4/20/2015 Deputy Matt Brann investigated a theft complaint at Saddleback Mountain in Sandy River Plt.

4/21/2015 Deputy Sandy Burke reported a wash out at South Shore Drive in Sandy River Plt.

4/21/2015 Deputy Brann investigated a late report of a traffic accident on Route 17 in New Vineyard.

4/21/2015 Deputy Brann investigated a car vs. deer accident on Main Street in Stratton. The deer ran off, reportable damage to the car.

4/22/2015 Deputy Zecher assisted State Police with a civil issue on George Thomas Road in Chesterville.

4/22/2015 Deputy Burke, Cpl. Chris Chase and Lt. St. Laurent investigated a report of domestic violence at Flagstaff Apartments in Eustis. After conducting the investigation, Paul Pitcher, 28, was arrested on charges of domestic violence aggravated assault Class B, and domestic violence terrorizing Class D regarding an incident that is alleged to have occurred a month prior to the most recent disclosure in Eustis. Pitcher was also arrested on charges of domestic violence assault Class C against a child under the age of 6 which reportedly occurred in Eustis.

4/23/2015 Deputy Colt Bernhardt assisted Somerset County Sheriff’s Department with a harassment notice issued on the Weeks Mills Road in New Sharon.

4/24/2015 Deputy Zecher assisted Northstar ambulance personnel with a call on Park Street in Phillips.

Deputies conducted 9 Elder Checks during this period. Deputies conducted 21 building checks during this reporting period, all were secure.
