Franklin County Sheriff’s Office weekly report from May 15 – 22, 2015:

5/16/2015 Deputy Kevin Hartley responded to a report of an out-of-control 17-year-old foster child staying in Chesterville.

5/16/2015 Deputy Colt Bernhardt investigated a vehicle crash on the Byron Road in Weld; the operator had fled the scene. Investigation is ongoing.

5/16/2015 Cpl. Chris Chase investigated a report of theft on Starks Road in New Sharon.

5/16/2015 Cpl. Nate Reid responded to Mercer Road in New Sharon regarding a suicidal man.

5/17/2015 Deputy Bernhardt and Deputy Sandy Burke provided safety patrols for the Sugarloaf Marathon.

5/17/2015 Cpl. Reid responded to a domestic disturbance on Harold Ross Road in Dallas Plt.

5/17/2015 Deputy Bernhardt and Wilton police investigated a report of suspicious activity on the Phillips Road in Weld. A report was received that young adults were in an SUV with the rear window broken out; one of them had a severe laceration on his head. They were looking for a hospital, Bernhardt determined that this was an accidental injury and escorted them to Franklin Memorial Hospital.

5/17/2015 Deputy Hartley responded to a motorcycle accident on Route 4 in Sandy River Plantation. The driver was injured and transported.

5/17/2015 Cpl.Chase investigated a report of an online fraud complaint.

5/17/2015 Deputy Burke responded to a lodge on Arnold Trail in Eustis regarding a report of an assault.

5/17/2015 Cpl. Reid responded to West Freeman Road in Strong regarding a disturbance complaint.

5/19/2015 Deputy Matt Brann investigated a report of threatening letter received by staff at Mt. Abram High School.

5/20/2015 Deputy Hartley responded to a report of a car fire on Rangeley Road in Avon. Upon arrival it was discovered that there was no fire, just antifreeze that had boiled over.

5/20/2015 Deputy Hartley investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle on Porcupine Trail in Coplin Plt.

5/20/2015 Deputy Hartley investigated a report of an open door at a camp on Arnold Trail in Eustis.

5/20/2015 Deputy Hartley investigated a single vehicle accident on Spaulding Road in Eustis.

5/20/2015 Deputy Hartley investigated a report of suspicious activity on route 27 in New Portland at the northern turnout.

5/21/2015 Cpl. Reid stopped a man who was hitchhiking on Route 4 in Phillips headed to his current home in Phillips. He was identified as a person with multiple warrants out of Washington D.C. area, however none were extraditable from Maine.

5/21/2015 Deputy Hartley conducted a welfare check on Edelheid Road in Sandy River Plt.

5/21/2015 Cpl. Nate Bean assisted Wilton police in trying to locate a suicidal person. Local Maine wardens and State Police troopers also assisted.

Deputies conducted 3 Elder Checks during this period. Deputies conducted 8 building checks during this reporting period, all were secure.
