Franklin County Sheriff’s Department weekly report for Sept. 5-12, 2014:

9/5/2014 Deputy Andrew Morgan investigated an alleged harassment complaint on Bucklin Street in Jay, because one party involved, is a former Jay employee so the SO was requested to assist. Investigation revealed no harassment, but a civil case child custody issue.

9/5/2014 Cpl. Nathan Reid and Deputy Morgan responded to Parlin Hill Road in New Vineyard regarding a domestic disturbance, verbal only no charges.

9/6/2014 Deputy Colt Bernhardt investigated a report of theft from Tuttle’s Auto Sales in New Sharon. Person(s) unknown stole the wheels off a 2003 Ford Taurus which was last seen intact in the lot at Friday afternoon and was discovered with its wheels/tires missing Saturday Morning after 8 a.m. by staff.

9/6/2014 Deputy Bernhardt investigated a report of theft from Sandy River Farm Supply in New Sharon. A cart was missing that was parked in the lot that had a sign stating “free for the taking” but staff stated it was meant only for the clothes inside the cart, not the entire cart. A local resident had been identified, Bernhardt spoke with her and she stated she had misunderstood.

9/6/2014 Deputy Morgan investigated a report of threatening on Mile Hill Road in New Sharon. After listening to the complaint it was determined not to be a threat. Morgan advised the complainant on what course of action to take – she did not like it and ceased communication.

9/6/2014 Deputy Morgan and Cpl. Reid responded to Varnum Pond Road in Temple regarding a 911 call. Investigation revealed a verbal domestic between a boyfriend and girlfriend. She wanted to leave and take items with her, he wasn’t allowing it. Deputies stood by while she removed her personal belongings.

9/7/2014 Deputy Sandy Burke investigated a report of criminal mischief on Main Street in Kingfield. Complainant, stated that person(s) unknown had kicked in a door causing it to fall off its hinges to his residence breaking glass in a second door.

9/7/2014 Deputy Burke investigated a report of criminal threatening on the Weld Road in Phillips.

9/8/2014 Deputy Burke responded to the Rangeley Road in Coplin Plt regarding loose cattle in the road way.

9/8/2014 Deputy Morgan investigated a report of a suspicious vehicle complaint at Mt. Abram High School in Salem.

9/8/2014 Deputy Kevin Hartley investigated a theft of street signs on Salem Road in Salem.

9/9/2014 Deputy Nicholas Zecher assisted Computer Crimes Task Force with an investigation in Franklin County.

9/9/2014 Deputy Zecher investigated a theft from a residence on Narrow Gauge Street in Kingfield.

9/9/2014 Detective Ken Charles and Detective Stephen Charles arrested Katie Bubar of Bradbury Road in Industry on a charge of domestic violence assault against a child.

9/9/2014 Deputy Matt Brann investigated an accident on the East Madrid Road in Phillips. As a result of the crash, a 16-year-old female was summonsed for imprudent speed.

9/10/2014 Deputy Hartley assisted Oxford SO with an accident reconstruction involving serious injuries.

9/11/2014 Cpl. Reid responded to a car vs. moose accident on Loon Lake Road in Dallas Plt. The driver, Rita Tempel of Bellport, N.Y. was driving a black 2012 Toyota Highlander when she stated she saw the moose in the road and it did not move. She tried to drive slowly around, however the moose charged the car ramming the side causing reportable damage to the vehicle. The moose then ran off.

9/11/2014 Deputy Zecher assisted Wilton police with a reported domestic disturbance.

9/11/2014 Detective Stephen Charles assisted Farmington police with a theft arrest.

9/11/2014 Deputy Morgan struck a deer causing minor damage to his patrol vehicle while traveling on the Knowlton Corner Road in Farmington.

9/11/2014 Deputy Zecher responded to Salem Road in Phillips regarding a male having psychological issues. Zecher transported him to Franklin Memorial Hospital for an evaluation.

Deputies conducted 54 property/building checks during this time period, one structure was found unsecure.
