RANGELEY – Selectmen are continuing the hiring process for a new town manager.

Although no clear date has been set for an announcement, all five candidates chosen for interview from a field of 33 applicants have met with the board of selectmen, Karen Olivieri said today. Olivieri, the town’s tax collector and treasurer, has been serving as interim town manager since Perry Ellsworth resigned in mid-January. Ellsworth, who had been at the helm in Rangeley for six years, took the manager’s job for the town of South Berwick.

Olivieri, who is not an applicant for the town manager position, said selectmen are looking to find the best fit for the town of Rangeley.

“They are steadfast on finding the right person for the job,” she said.
