Icy weather sends vehicles off roadway in Jay

1 min read

JAY – Icy road conditions were responsible for three vehicles leaving the roadway Monday morning, police said today. No one was reported injured in any crashes.

According to Jay Police Department Cpl. Jeffrey Fournier, the most serious of these was a crash that occurred just before 7 a.m. on the Franklin Road. Kellie Donahue, 38 of Livermore, was northbound when her vehicle slipped on ice. It crossed the other lane and left the roadway, rolling onto its roof.

Donahue was checked at the scene by NorthStar EMS but did not need to be transported. In addition to JPD, Jay Fire Department personnel were at the scene to provide traffic control.

Fournier noted that two other vehicles were involved in unrelated incidents that resulted in them leaving the road. He said the icy conditions, the result of freezing temperatures and the first snowfall of the season, were to blame in all three cases.
