RANGELEY – Police are continuing their investigation into a break-in at a convenience store on Main Street.

Two suspects are being sought for the burglary and theft at the Looney Bin store. A store employee called police at 5:15 a.m. Monday to report the break-in, said Police Chief Dennis Leahy.

The lock was broken on the door on the right front side of the building and “things were thrown all over the place,” Leahy said. Burglary tools, including a pry bar, were found at the scene.

Leahy said so far cash was found to be missing, along with several packs of cigarettes. Due to the mess in the store, an inventory of more items missing hasn’t been completed yet.

The suspects, both caught on the video surveillance system installed at the store, can clearly be seen. Investigators are working to identify the suspects and find them.

  1. What is going on with all the theft and destruction of property? It always seems to stem back to the same guilty people…..The ones with too much time on their hands….The lazy people that don’t care to work, but would rather steal from others who are trying to make a living! Attn Thieves: Try working and earning your own money!!!!
