FARMINGTON – Police have charged a local man with cruelty to animals after a complaint of domestic violence led to accusations of molestation.

According to the Farmington Police Department, Officer Darin Gilbert and Sgt. Michael Adcock responded to a residence on Sawtelle Lane after receiving a report of a domestic violence assault. The complaint, filed by Albert B. Farmer, 24 of Farmington, indicated that the property owner and mother of his girlfriend had attempted to grab his left shoulder, following an argument about him moving out over a disagreement about cigarettes.

Upon discerning that no assault had taken place, Gilbert interviewed the girlfriend, who had been staying with Farmer at the residence, and her mother. The mother reportedly told Gilbert that Farmer had been sexually active with her dog, Tinkerbell, and that was what the argument had been about.

According to police, Farmer’s girlfriend confirmed that Farmer had a history of having Tinkerbell lick his genitals.

Gilbert arrested Farmer on a charge of cruelty to animals, a misdemeanor. Maine criminal statutes indicate that “bestiality,” defined as “Engag[ing] in a sexual act with an animal for the purpose of that person’s sexual gratification,” qualifies as misdemeanor cruelty to animals.

Farmer was still at Franklin County Detention Center as of Monday morning.

  1. So the bulldog will post those details, but it won’t post my comments on other articles when I challenge the word “allegedly”? Wow is right.

  2. Things get sicker, meaner, and crazier by the hour anymore. Next week will be exponentially worse.

  3. The Bulldog blocks many of my comments that might hurt the feelings of a liberal but prints an article like this?? There is your “WOW”!!

  4. this is not what I want to read about in the daily bulldog!!!!!

  5. If what you
“want” to and “wish” that you could
read about in the news isn’t here, then it’s time to get a life and do something newsworthy that is really worth reading about!

  6. It’s news folks! I’d be PO’ed if they didn’t print it.
Other papers have the same story.

  7. Well- it’s gratifying to know that we all get blocked by the Bulldog from time to time, liberals, conservatives and everyone else !

I think this is the funniest article I have read in a long, long time. Much more entertaining than the guy who was upset with the way his new tattoo looked on his neck. It’s a little graphic, but I grew up watching bodies being counted in Vietnam on the evening news. Reading this was tame stuff, even if it did push the puritan bounds a bit.

It makes you realize that some people have more immediate concerns than worrying about who’s going to be the next governor, or if there will be a new missile base, or if we will have a deluge of Spanish speaking children running about in Farmington.

  8. Agree, Daily Bulldog is a control freak on comments regardless, that’s the number one discussion about your paper, only your freedom of speech matters, never “We the People”, never seen such bias actions

  9. Most of my comments don’t make it either.Too realistic I guess. Some people are tragically born without a sense of humor.

  10. WOW. was exactly my first thought. Sounds like a real winner. Just like Lucas said other papers had pretty much the same write up. I don’t see anything wrong here. Just goes to show you what sick simple minded people we have out there. If thats what he’s getting charged for, then why shouldnt the public know about it. They defienetely put in enough info sometimes when it involves humans. Shouldnt be any different with a animal.

  11. C’mon people. You would have been upset if the Bulldog had not published this story. They do an excellent job of reporting in spite of their liberal leanings, much better than the print papers.

  12. If it serves to give warning to perpetrators of crimes against animals, letting them know society won’t accept this sort of behavior against those animals who have no say in the matter, then this article is necessary to print and kudos to the bulldog for doing so!

  13. The only explanation I can think of for this story being here is that Tinkerbell must be a bulldog.

  14. The way story and other odd but inevitable human blunders are presented here is shameful. This reflects the very rotten nature of news, media and the community that feeds on the low ball stigmatizing and exoticism of people with systemic social MH issues. I don’t like what this guy did but then again I don’t want to read about in as if it’s entertainment and next to local business advertisements. Sorry B Dog but this kind of tabloid story reporting reduces the quality of our community and ability to think of better conditions. Yes it serves to humiliate the person and to captivate the perverse minds of people who look for such negativity. Save it for the general police log reports and let the bullies feed their weird fetish form there to troll for catchy headlines and part stories on their own. This makes me reconsider the commitment to journalism and seriousness of this online paper and community.
