Reda Sabril, 38, was picked up in Augusta on an arrest warrant issued by the Farmington Police Department for felony theft on Sunday. He is charged with one count of burglary, two counts of theft by unauthorized taking or transfer and one count of forgery after the owner of a Thai restaurant in Farmington reported the break-in and theft on Friday morning.

Police allege it is Sabril’s image that a video security camera captured on Thursday night at Thai Smile & Sushi Restaurant.

According to Deputy Chief Shane Cote of the Farmington Police Department, police had loaned the Thai Smile owner a security camera because of recent burglaries reported in the area.

On the night of June 9, another downtown business owner had complained to police that Sabril was found trespassing at the business. Detective Darin Gilbert of the Farmington Police Department, found the description given by the employees of the clothing Sabril was wearing as he reportedly trespassed matched the clothing the person in the video was wearing, Cote said. An arrest warrant was issued.

Police are not disclosing what was taken from the restaurant, though a felony theft usually involves a value of more than $1,000. Sabril was transported to the Franklin County Detention Center on Sunday. Bail was set at $2,500.
