Tuesday, Sept. 27: This is an update and clarification of the events leading up to Mr. Hutchinson’s arrest:

According to Sgt. Edward Hastings IV, “There was no complaint involving children, the original complaint was near the children’s rides and complained of Hutchinson being intoxicated and disorderly. Hutchinson was encountered by Officer Michael Lyman and Officer Ethan Kyes in the Starbird building following another complaint about his behavior.

“Officer Lyman requested Hutchinson leave the grounds due to the complaints. Hutchinson refused to leave the grounds and remained making loud unreasonable noises, including swearing. As a result he was arrested, though refused to submit to arrest. He was taken into custody, removed from the grounds, and transported to the jail by Officer Kevin Lemay.

Hutchinson’s bail was set at $250 cash. He didn’t post bail. He went to court on Monday and pled guilty to some of the charges. I believe he pled guilty to disorderly conduct and refusing to submit arrest.”

  1. I worked at the fair all week in a food booth and it was great to see all the Farmington Police and Franklin County police walking around.
