Police asking for help in identifying man

Police are asking for help in identifying this man who is wanted for questioning.

AUGUSTA - State Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man whose photo was taken by a surveillance camera inside a building that had recently been burglarized.

The photo was taken in late August in the Belgrade, Rome, Smithfield area - a region that has been hit by a number of burglaries in recent months. Troopers are not identifying the town were the most recent burglary took place.

The photo shows a middle aged man, wearing large wire rimmed glasses, and carrying a backpack.

Anyone with information on the man's identity is asked to call State Police in Augusta at 624-7076, and ask for Trooper John Lacoste.
