Police seeking suspect in Chesterville store theft

CHESTERVILLE – The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public for help in identifying a suspect they believe stole several items from the Chesterville Corner Store on Saturday.

On Monday Deputy Andrew Morgan responded to a theft complaint believed to have occurred at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3. Items reported as stolen included a flashlight, cans of tuna, a toothbrush and bottles of water, soap and coffee.

The suspect is described as a man in his late 40s or early 50s wearing a red and green colored ball cap, leather jacket, blue jeans and white shoes. The suspect’s vehicle appeared in a surveillance camera recording to be a gold colored Chrysler sedan with Florida tags.

“The suspect stated he was staying in the Eustis area,” said Sheriff Scott Nichols.
