Public asked for help in golf club break-in

WILTON – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding who broke into the golf club and stole several items.

According to Police Chief Heidi Wilcox, a burglary occurred sometime between 9 p.m. Sunday night, May 24 and 5 a.m. Monday morning, May 25 at the Wilson Lake Country Club on Weld Road in Wilton.

“Entry was forced into the building. A quantity of alcohol and golfing merchandise was stolen including towels, hats, socks, golf balls and specialty gloves. Also taken was a wall mounted Hisense television,” Wilcox said.

Anyone passing by the club between those hours who may have noticed anything suspicious is asked to call 645-4222 or send an email to chief_wilcox@wpdme.com.
