A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located in the Weld area at 2:20 p.m. Monday. The weather service warned that the storm may also produce golf ball-sized hail.

The storm, which radar indicted is moving in a rotational direction for a possible tornado, east at 50 mph and is expected in the Farmington area around 3 p.m. Residents are advised to take cover, preferably in a basement and to stay away from windows, as flying debris and damage from hail is possible.

  1. We were out 6 mile west of Madison by West Mills and trees were falling all over the place, it felt like I would imagine a tornado. Hail the size of ice cubes accumulating. Was very serious. I hope all the work crews stay safe.

  2. A large white pine tree fell across 148 in Industry (near the horse sanctuary), taking down a telephone pole. Power and internet were out until well after midnight. I could hear crews trying to drill the hole for a new pole for hours. In the rain. Sounds like they were hitting rocks or something. Wires are still a mess, but everything is back on.

From what I hear, there were four trees down between Clearwater Lake and the horse sanctuary. On my road, we lost a huge maple. It was partially dead. At least it fell parallel to the road and missed the lines. Huge hail, huge wind. Very crazy.

  3. We live on the Rand Rd in Industry and didn’t get power back until around 4:30 pm today! It was crazy!
