FARMINGTON FALLS – Two Farmington men are facing criminal speeding charges after police say they were both going 37 miles per hour over the posted speed limit.

On Saturday, Sgt. Michael Adcock of the Farmington Police Department said radar indicated two vehicles, one following the other, were traveling towards New Sharon at a speed of 92 mph in the 55 mph posted zone on Farmington Falls Road.

According to his report, Adcock turned on his blue lights after spotting the two vehicles and first pulled over a 2013 Subaru with Justin R. Young, 23, of Farmington at the wheel.

Adcock continued on and pulled over a second vehicle, a 2000 Jeep with driver Jeremiah L. Pinkham, 21, of Farmington.

Farmington Officer Derek MacDonald responded to assist with the arrests. Young and Pinkham were transported to the Franklin County Detention Center, charged with criminal speeding.

Criminal speeding, a Class E misdemeanor crime, is charged when police believe a vehicle has exceeded the limit by more than 30 mph.

Young and Pinkham were released on $3,000 unsecured bail. A court date of June 2 was scheduled for each.

  1. Thank you Sgt Adcock! I live on the Farmington Falls rd. and have small children, as do all of my neighbors. People speed through here like that all the time. In fact, some are going so fast they can’t stop in time for the bus (especially the big rigs), by the time they do stop they are half way up the bus. A lot of good that would have done had there been children crossing the street. It is so dangerous out here, and I can’t thank you enough for being out here keeping us safe from speeders and so much more!

  2. Matt are you serious? State law mandates arrest in criminal speeding. No one gets out of it, no one. Thanks Sgt Adcock, keep hauling them in. This has got to stop.

  3. Maybe the criminal speeders should have just been summonsed so they would know how serious it is to hit someone at 92 mph?

Its just a game, right? Hit a deer at 92, Hit a tree at 92, hit a car pulling out at 92? Go off the road on a soft shoulder and roll over or flip a few times?

Driving is not a game. Good job officer!

  4. Matt, would you like them speeding past your place like that with your daughter crossing the road to your mothers house or walking to the store. I bet he wouldn’t appreciate people driving by his place like that after they have that baby! It’s not ok to drive that like, It’s not safe for anyone! That’s like going by your place at 70, not ok!

  5. My only problem is their bond was 3000 dollars. For speed. Yet someone. That has a stand off or building a meth. Lab. Gets. 1000. Pr bailed

  6. Hopefully people getting caught for operating a meth lab get a stiffer penalty than these criminal speeders do, not that the speeders should not get stiff penalties.

  7. Farmington falls is a very dangerous place due to the speeders.
They come off route 2 or come across the bridge going towards route 2 by the fire station and its nothing to see then doing 50 or 60 right thru that neighborhood!!
Feel lucky you don’t live there …
I don’t understand why the cops don’t do something.
I guess they’re waiting for some kid to get run down first….
The worse place I have ever seen.

  8. Yes, Farmington Falls is very dangerous. I live here on rt2 and wish more could be done. “Me” Is right, I have the same problem here with speeding and people running the stopped bus, in fact my neighbors have had rigs on their lawn because they have nearly jackknifed and ended up there, more then once!. Out here is a 45 and it’s a joke to people. I get nearly run over trying to pull into my driveway. It’s sad when I have to drive through town to avoid the traffic behind me just so I don’t have to worry about being rear ended. Almost all of us have family’s with younger children or are grandparents with grandchildren visiting. It’s not safe out here, we have to block our driveways with our vehicles so our children can ride their bikes. The driver speed and inattention has sent people onto my lawn, with a curb, I have bumpers and car pieces to prove it. I don’t even walk onto the road to get my mail, I have to stand on the lawn and reach around to get it. None of us dare walk in this area anymore it’s just too dangerous, and that is sad!

  9. keep up the good work. I feel the speed in Farmington Falls rt 2 needs to be reduced. 40 would be acceptable but even then they will do 50. I see many young children in that area and they have baseball games at the park.

  10. Farmington to New Sharon. I travel it everyday where are the police when people fly by me at 6 every morning? If I am doing the limit and they are out of site in seconds…. what do you think there speed is? They pass on double lines, corners and when slippery. They do not care. Leave earlier!

  11. How fast did the cop have to go to catch them? A don’t think anyone should be driving that fast on these roads. 92mph rather cop or civilian will kill you dead every time if you get caught… Just saying
