Two summonsed after gazebo vandalized

FARMINGTON – Two women have been issued summons for criminal mischief after they allegedly spray painted graffiti on the Meetinghouse Park gazebo.

Annalisa Haase, 19 of Portland, and Julia Richardson, 21 of Yarmouth, were issued summonses for criminal mischief by Farmington Police Department Officer Ryan Rosie, according to FPD officer manager Bonnie Pomeroy.

Rosie and Officer Darrin Gilbert investigated the park incident after receiving a call Wednesday evening that two females were spray painting the gazebo. Graffiti in dark paint was found on the structure.

The officers located and summonsed Haase and Richardson for criminal mischief and then issued trespass warnings against both individuals, as well as a male Farmington resident.

Haase and Richardson’s next, scheduled court date is Nov. 24.

  1. Have them clean their mess as punishment, hold them accountable like that instead of slapping theirm wrist.

  2. Make them clean all the graffeti off and repaint the gazebo. Also fine them and make them do community service. What were the JERKS from UMF?

  3. Hmm. I’m more concerned about the used needles and drug deals in that park after dark…

  4. Dress them in the traditional orange suits and make them scrap and paint the whole Gazebo. I sure as heck don’t want to feed these two HIGHLY intelligent women while jail.

  5. Marge, how dare you assume that the vandals were from UMF. It’s not fair to the University that you just assume their student body contains vandals. That’s not the image we support.

  6. Ages 19 & 21 and still doing such childish things?? wow, how sad.
By all means, make them clean up the mess ( at their own expence for supplies/paint etc.)
Make them do even more community service hours doing ‘clean up’ chores..list could be endless in a town the size of Farmington.
I agree..paying a fine will not stop them from doing something again..they need to WORK off their crime!

  7. If that is your concern Raymond maybe you should work with the police to get some of these drug dealers off our streets and call them when you see the used needles.. Do something and get involved instead of just writing a comet in the paper.

  8. When several local youth sprayed graffiti on the buildings in a walkway off Broadway a few years ago they had to clean it. I think the same would be applicable to “MotherRat” and company.

  9. ‘Let he who has no sin cast the first stone.’

It amazes me how quick some in our community are ready to throw young people under the bus for being “young and dumb” with harsh comments and narrow judgment. No wonder they are all leaving the state!

Please take a moment and search through your lives before making judgment statements of others.

Be brave and use your full name, if you can state something, you should be able to stand behind it.

  10. Bill is correct. If you have something to say on a public forum, you should be required to sign/type your name.

  11. I agree Bill, we all make mistakes but we seem to hold kids less accountable these days. Going to court and making them clean the mess will make them more aware that this is not acceptable.

  12. Well, WERE they UMF students or not? If so, they should be expelled. Nick, your assumption that all UMF students are perfect law abiding citizens is naive and ignorant.

  13. Amanda, Marge, you never did anything stupid as a teen? It’s not a Russian missile attack; it’s paint. Breathe!! I’m sure the girls will have learned their lesson by the time all is done.

  14. @ Bill Crandall

‘…for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.’

It is real simple, if you don’t want to be called “stupid, foolish, or even a vandal,” then don’t spray paint the public’s gazebo. These girls’ actions have revealed who they are at this time, and those in the public calling them out are not wrong for doing so. Maybe some public criticism is what is needed to insure they will not do something stupid like this again.

As to your other comment on using your full name… 2 comments. First, using pseudonyms in exercising our first amendment right is certainly not new nor cowardly. Fact is, a pretty brave guy used many pseudonyms throughout his life in writing. Second, it’s the internet. How do the others on this site know you really are Bill Crandall? Just because you post a name on a website? Not a big deal if people don’t use their name.

  15. We were all stupid in our youth, it’s how we become better adults. Maybe it was a parent’s pack of smokes, a test drive, sneaking out for a party. Some would call these innocent acts of rebellion. And while this urban art form is childish, treat it as such. Or we could just build a gallows now if you prefer?

  16. Captain Planet no i did not do stupid stuff like that . I was made to stay home and do the house work and care for my brothers and sisters. My parents were very strict and if I did not do as I was told I got the strap or cherry switch used on my bare butt. I could tell alot more about my life growing up but it is in the past and I am trying to leave it there. Today kids get away with to much and do not always no what it is like to work hard
