Agnes T. O’Reilly (1917 – 2012)

FARMINGTON - Agnes T. O’Reilly, 94, of Farmington, formerly of Bayonne, NJ, died early Saturday morning, May 5, 2012 at the Pierce House in Farmington, where she had been a resident since 2004.

She was born on Dec. 14, 1917 in Bayonne, NJ, the eldest of three daughters born to Albert and Agnes L. Borrmann . She graduated from Bayonne, NJ schools. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Ann Thompson and Eleanor Kelder.

As a young woman, she worked as a secretary in New York City for the Upjohn Company until the time of her marriage to James E. O’Reilly on February 22, 1941. She later worked as a bookkeeper for her father’s milk delivery business. Agnes and James moved from Bayonne to Linden, New Jersey to raise their two children.

She and her husband moved to Pennsylvania to be near their son, Dr. Robert O’Reilly and his wife, Barbara.
After the death of her husband in March 1998 she continued to reside in Pennsylvania enjoying her family and friends, and later relocated with Robert and Barbara to Farmington, Maine, in 2002.

Agnes volunteered at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington and was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church. She enjoyed knitting, the company of her dogs and especially the company of her family. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend as well as a selfless caregiver for several family members in times of illness.

She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Robert O’Reilly and his wife, Barbara of Farmington and Dr. James O’Reilly and his wife, Deborah of St. John’s, NL, Canada and Houston, TX; and four grandchildren, Patrick, Michael, Sean and Caitlin.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11AM, Friday, June 22, 2012 at the St. Joseph’s Church in Farmington with, Rev. Thomas Lequin, celebrant. Family and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Funeral Home, Cremation Service & Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, 5-7PM, Thursday, June 21, 2012. Interment will be at the Saint John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, Bucks County , Pa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her memory to the Pierce House.
