AVON – Albert Raymond Berry, 85, passed away on Dec. 1, 2016 at Orchard Park Rehabilitation and Living Center in Farmington, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 6, 1931 in Phillips, the son of Raymond and Laura (Kinney) Berry. He was educated in the schools of Phillips.
On Nov. 12, 1949, he married Lorraine Coolong in Avon.
In his early years, he worked at Forster Mfg Co., Starbird Lumber, and for Milt Stinchfield. Later on, he worked for the State of Maine Department of Transportation for 19 years. For many years, he was self employed doing lumbering, farming, and road construction. Albert was a member of the Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge #67 AF & AM and the Phillips Methodist Church. He loved being in the outdoors, and especially going out and riding on his four-wheeler with his dog.
He is survived by; his wife of 67 years, Lorraine Berry of Avon; his three daughters, Wanda Rolllins of Phillips, Vicki Worth and husband John of Chesterville, Jill Berry Bowen and husband Tim of Avon and St. Albans, VT; three grandsons; five great grandchildren; and nieces.
Donations in Albert’s memory may be made to the Franklin County Animal Shelter, 550 Industry Road, Farmington, ME 04938.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Riverside Cemetery (behind old Methodist Church – off Main St) in Phillips, with Rev. John Gensel officiating. Please wear your boots, as Albert loved being in the woods. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.

so sad when our time to move to the heavens come , in my earlier years I spent many days riding horses on his beautiful farm , he was one of the hardest workers I know , he had spoken to me about the pleasure of working for yourself , he was a good friend picked me up many times walking , he and his many loved dogs , I know he wont rest even in heaven he will be doing something , wonder what , skidder , bucket loader,backhoe , anyones guess I guess. he also had a lot of fun I know and will always remember his laugh and chuckle . I ll keep an eye on the line between you and ronny ok albert LOL

Sorry for your loss. It was always great to stop by and visit the Golden Retriever Sadie that we sold to them way back in 2005. Sadie was always with Albert.
