Angela G. Nagle (1919-2016)

FARMINGTON – Beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Angela Giordano Nagle, 96, of Farmington passed peacefully on May 14, 2016, surrounded by her adoring family.

She was born on Oct. 11, 1919, in Meriden, Conn., the daughter of James and Josephine Giordano. She graduated from Meridan High in 1927. During World War II Angela worked at “New Departure.” When the war ended she married James Nagle and they raised three sons before James passed on Feb. 17, 1975.

She went on to work as a cook and kitchen manager at her brother’s nursing home until her retirement in 1984. She devoted much of her time to reading, traveling, cooking her delicious meals and spending time with her family which was her most precious joy. Her strong will and zest for life will always be remembered.

Angela is survived by three sons: James Nagle and his wife Terry of Old Orchard, Robert Nagle and partner Janet Young of Windham, Peter Nagle and his wife Lisa of Livermore; six grandchildren: Shelly, Erin, Cory, Shawn, Lauren, and Heather; eight great grandchildren, Olivia, Annabelle, Ethan,Charlotte, and Emma Jean Marie, Jagger, Olivia, and Mason; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and ex-daughter-in-law Deborah Nagle.

She was predeceased by her husband, several brothers and sisters.

A private graveside service will be held at the Veterans Cemetery in Augusta. Those wishing may make donations in Angela’s memory to Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center, Activities Fund, 221 Fairbanks Road, Farmington. Arrangements under the care of Adams-McFarlane Funeral & Cremation Services, 108 Court St., Farmington. Condolences may be sent for the family at www.adamsmcfarlane.com.

  4. So sorry for your loss to the Nagle family. I will miss Angela so much sitting in the setting area and the patio in the summer watching people coming and going. I will miss her comments she had for everyone or bad. Most of all I miss her zest for life and always wanting to know when the bus was leaving! She has forever touched my heart. Hugs to all.

  6. My Mom roomed with Angela. I got to know her real well and enjoyed visiting with her when I went to see Mom. My condolences to the family.

    We remember Angela fondly, I used to visit her at Edgewood, and her asking me when the taxi was going to take her out, and Rod could always tell it was her, when she called for a ride just to get away from all the old people sitting around doing nothing.
