Avis Elaine (Webber) Quirrion (1938 – 2012)

Avis Quirrion

JAY – Avis Elaine (Webber) Quirrion, 73, of Jay, died Thursday morning at her home. She was born, in Auburn, Sept. 18, 1938, a daughter of Seth and Doris (Smith) Webber. On Dec. 6, 1959, she married George Quirrion. He died Sept. 5, 2006.

Mrs. Quirrion was employed at Farmington Shoe for five years and then at GH Bass for 27 years. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and spending time with her family, camping , and fishing.

She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Remick and her husband, Martell of Jay; a son, George “Buck” Quirrion II and his wife Patricia of Jay; 5 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Webber and his wife Sharon of Dixfield; sisters, Gladys Harris of New Sharon, Beverly Webber of Farmington Falls, Edith Nightingale of Jay, Elizabeth “Betty” Lucas of Readfield, Florence Williams and her husband, Norman of Farmington Falls, and Peggy Vashaw and her husband, Norman of Farmington Falls;

She was predeceased by a son, Ronald in 1986; brothers, Laurence, Steve, Dwight, and Calvin; and a sister, Virginia Pond.

Graveside funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Wiles Remembrance Center, 136 High Street, Wilton, Sunday from 5-7 p.m. The family asks that those who desire consider memorial gifts to Androscoggin Home Health Care and Hospice, 284 Main Street, Suite 290, Wilton, ME 04294.

  2. She will be missed so much she was the worlds best grandma and great grandmother that we could have asked for, and we will miss her so so much. There wont be a day that goes by that we wont be thinking of her. RIP Great Meme and Avis. We love you

  3. Avis was a very special lady whom I worked with for many years at Bass. She made many wreaths for the scouts when I did the program. My prayers go out to her family.
    She is with the angels now. Sleep my friend Sleep
