WILTON – Barbara A. Wardwell, 92, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2019, early in the morning at her home in Wilton, surrounded by her family.

Barbara was the oldest of ten siblings. She was married to Carl G. Wardwell Sr. and together they raised six children and one niece: Carl and Judy Wardwell of Wilton, Carol Ann and Wade Atwood of Jay, Lauralee and Kingston Bickford of Wilton, Calvin Wardwell of Canton, Darlene and Mike Lilley of Wilton, Mary and Dale Welch of North Jay, Vickie and Ted Spydell of North Jay.

Barbara is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Peter, Larry, Lisa, Beth, Sammie, Loretta, Eric, Lynette, Casey, Corey, Kevin, and Ericka; 18 great grandchildren and 5 great, great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl; daughter, Carol Ann; son in-law, Kingston Bickford; grandson, Albert; 2 sisters and 1 brother.

Donations in Barbara’s memory may be made to Androscoggin Home Health and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Ave., Lewiston, ME 04240.

A spring burial will be announced at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Rd., Farmington, ME 04938.

  5. I have such wonderful memories of Barbara. She was the king pin that held so many lives together and she cared so deeply for so many. I will never forget all her kindness to my kids and I when we lived on Cushman St. I never saw Barbara but what she had a hug for me. This summer I will visit you and Carl together now when I take my walks. RIP my dear friend. Hugs and love to all of the family.

  8. Barbara was my families neighbor for many years! She made the best biscuits for many of the events I attended. She was a great cook! My heart breaks for her family! My thoughts and prayers go out to all of her family! May you remember all the great memories!
