FARMINGTON – Beatrice Ella Roux, 74, of Farmington, died on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at Sandy River Nursing Home of dementia.

She was born in Greenville on Nov. 11, 1941, and was the oldest of three children, from the late Birdena Welch and Percy Darrington. Beatrice graduated from Farmington High School and made her career in local shoe shops, as a waitress and later started her own cleaning service.

She married Robert Roux on New Year’s Eve 1979. Beatrice enjoyed feeding her birds, her beloved cat named Kit Cat and spending time at the ocean and camping.

Beatrice loved her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.

Beatrice leaves behind her husband Robert Roux of Farmington; two sons David St. Laurent and wife Chrissi and their daughters: Lindsay, Lauren and Leah of Farmington; Ronnie St. Laurent of New Jersey; her daughter Laura Adams and husband Andy and their children Aliza and Mitchell of Wilton; a granddaughter Renae Ladd of Wilton, a grandson T.J. Ladd of Portland;  brother Robert Welch of Whitefield; two sisters: Bettina Ponchot of Lake Worth, Florida and Brandy Thomas of Augusta.

Beatrice was predeceased by her daughter Sherra Ladd on Feb. 26, 2014.

At the request of the family, no funeral service will be held at this time. The family has donated her body to UNE for research of dementia. The family would like to give a big thank you to Sandy River Nursing Home for their exceptional care of their Mom.
