WILTON – Bernard Woods, 86, of Wilton died Thursday, May 26, at his home.
He was born in Massachusetts on May 18, 1930 and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Germany at the end of World War II. He was a long-time employee of GH Bass Shoe in Wilton and was devoted to the town of Wilton and the Catholic Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Veronika Voss of CA; sons, Bernard Woods, Jr. and Michael Woods, both of Chicago; siblings, Douglas Woods and Jerry Woods and a half sister, Linda Harris and half brother, Bruce Harris; and a grand daughter, Katia Voss of CA.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Middle Street, Farmington, followed by interment at Riverside Cemetery, Farmington with military honors. Following the interment, a light luncheon will be helad at the Homestead Bakery, hosted by his family. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations in his memory be considered to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 133 Middle Street, Farmington, ME 04938. Memorial services and cremation care have been provided by the Wiles Remembrance Center, 137 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington.
His love of his faith and church lit him up. He was a friend to everyone. Fly high and fast into our Lord’s arms Bucky!!!
Mr. Woods was very proud of his children. Whenever we spoke, often in Food City or when he walked up and down Village View, he would let me know what they were up to (especially you, Jr.). I’m sorry for your loss. RIP Mr. Woods.
Bucky was one of my favorite people. I enjoyed our pleasant talks when he would come for his daily ice cream.
